More on the Project

Forest Enterprise Research aims to provide a set of useful business tool for the small scale forestry entrepreneur.  It is an initiative by the Department of Forest and Wood Science at Stellenbosch University, the Institute for Commercial Forestry Research and Forest Economic Services.

One of the key research activities is the development of a Forest Enterprise Simulator (ForEntSim) that will allow forestry entrepreneurs to test the financial returns from forestry operations in South Africa.  The Simulator is funded by the Sector Innovation Fund of the Department of Science and Technology, through a grant administered by Forestry South Africa.
